COMMITTY APP HELP

Support & FAQs.

Updated 23 September 2026

How can we help?

Email support@committy.co.uk about account access, app problems, privacy requests or payment records. Ask your committee about a fine or group rule. Support is not an emergency or safeguarding response service.

Report a problem

Include the screen name, steps you took, expected result and actual result. Redact personal information from screenshots. Never include passwords, codes, full bank statements, card details or app backups. The report template does not open a ticket or send anything automatically; review and send it yourself.

Complaints and accessibility

Tell us what went wrong and what would help resolve it. You can also report accessibility barriers or request a usable alternative. We will investigate and explain the next steps. There is no guaranteed response time during private testing.

How do I join a team?

In online testing, sign in and choose Find or join a team. Paste an invitation code/link or search, then apply. The committee must approve you before you can open team records. Local preview invitations only work between profiles on the same device.

What can each role do?

Members view and participate in their group. Committee members prepare fines; the chair approves and publishes drafts and manages settings. The chair can also allow committee members to publish. Check Roles and permissions for your group’s selections.

How do I assign several fines?

Open Fines → Manage → Assign fines +. Select from your fine list and choose members, check who receives each fine, then review the batch. A duplicate warning lets you inspect possible duplicates before continuing.

Why is a fine still a draft?

Drafts have not yet been published. They do not become payable until approved. The chair, or a committee member with publishing permission, can approve individually, select several, or approve all.

Why does my balance exclude a fine?

An open contest puts that fine on hold. Your outstanding balance includes payable fines, not those still awaiting a contest result.

How do contests and hearings work?

You can contest one or several eligible fines and give a reason. Written, in-person and video hearing options depend on the workflow. Scheduled hearings need confirmation and voting cannot start before their time. Each fine receives a separate result. Limits, voting duration, loss penalties and tie handling follow team settings. Built-in video calling is not connected.

How often can I spin the fine wheel?

The default is once per week. The chair can change the limit and outcomes in settings. The fine wheel changes an eligible unpaid fine; it is not a player-selection draw. The court tie-breaker is a separate decision wheel.

Does the kitty show unpaid fines?

No. Money held and money still to collect are separate. The kitty retains earlier records and payouts; only the Stripe figure represents recorded funds still held with the provider. All current payment testing is simulated.

Do I need to upload payment proof?

No. Card payments are confirmed by the payment provider. Do not send card details or security codes. Existing supporting images remain part of earlier records.

Can a chair mark my card payment as received?

No. Card-payment status must come from the provider. Contact support if it looks incorrect; do not create another record for the same payment.

Are polls and Item of the Week compulsory?

No. Groups choose which features to use. Polls can have an optional closing date. Item of the Week is off by default; its selection follows the team’s permissions.

Why am I not getting phone notifications?

The inbox works in local preview and online testing. Online team records refresh approximately every 15 seconds while open. Phone push notifications and unattended reminders are not connected yet.

Will my data appear on another phone?

Online testing uses the same verified account on each device; shared team records refresh approximately every 15 seconds while open. Local preview does not synchronise and is not uploaded. Keep local backups privately. Do not use this beta as the only record of real funds.
