What this notice covers
This notice covers the Committy marketing website and emails about it, including enquiries about testing. It does not cover team accounts, fines or payment records in the Committy app, which has separate privacy information.
Information we use and why
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you supply, your message and attachments. We use these to answer you and, if requested, discuss beta participation. Our basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and organising relevant testing. Providing this information is voluntary, but without contact details we may be unable to respond.
Our hosting provider processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser information, to deliver the website and detect abuse. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website.
Contacting us does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not sell enquiry information or use it for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Please avoid sending sensitive information about yourself or teammates.
Cookies and tracking
The website code does not set cookies or use analytics, advertising trackers, external fonts or embedded social-media content. Our hosting provider may use necessary security technologies. The separate, access-protected beta has its own sign-in arrangements. Email links open your email app; nothing is sent until you send the message.
Who receives information
Authorised people handling Committy enquiries can access your messages. We use Cloudflare for website delivery and security, and Google Workspace for email. We may also share information with professional advisers or authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International processing
Cloudflare and Google Workspace may process information outside the UK. Our provider processing and transfer arrangements are under review as we prepare the company launch. Contact support@committy.co.uk for information about these arrangements. We do not claim that all website or email information stays in the UK.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information for the time needed to handle your request and relevant follow-up, considering whether a complaint, dispute or legal requirement needs a longer record. We remove unnecessary attachments and minimise retained information wherever possible.
Your rights
You can ask to access your information, correct it, have it erased or restrict how it is used. Rights depend on the circumstances; they do not always require us to delete information immediately.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. To make a request, email support@committy.co.uk. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You do not need to contact us first, although we welcome the chance to put things right.
